How to Block Roblox on Android for Kids

Roblox is one of the most-requested apps on kids' phones — and one of the hardest to limit. Here's how to block Roblox on Android with FamShield, while still allowing limited playtime if that fits your family rules.

Step 1: Block the Roblox app

Open the FamShield parent dashboard, find Roblox in your child's app list, and turn on blocking. The app will no longer open on the device. Blocking only stops the app from launching — it doesn't delete the account, friends, or in-game items, so nothing is lost while it's off.

Step 2: Allow limited play windows (optional)

If you'd rather limit than fully block, set an allowed window — for example, Roblox open on Saturday afternoons after chores, blocked the rest of the week. The schedule keeps the promise for you, so the rule doesn't need re-negotiating every day.

Step 3: Cover the browser version

Roblox also runs in a web browser. Enable FamShield's optional DNS-based web protection to block gaming and unsafe sites at the network level, which works across browsers on the device.

Step 4: Check usage and talk about it

Use FamShield's app usage insights to see how much time Roblox was taking before the rules, and share that with your child — concrete numbers make the "why" easier to accept. FamShield doesn't read private messages or chat, so in-game conversations stay between your child and the people they talk to; the controls are there to support your family's agreements, not replace them.

Frequently asked questions

Can I allow Roblox only on weekends?

Yes. Block the Roblox app and add an allowed window for it on the days and hours you choose — e.g. Saturday afternoons — keeping it blocked the rest of the week.

Does blocking Roblox delete my child's account or items?

No. Blocking stops the app from launching on the device; the Roblox account, friends, and in-game items stay intact for when it's allowed again.

My child plays Roblox in the browser instead. What then?

Enable FamShield's optional DNS-based web protection from the parent dashboard. It blocks sites at the network level, across any browser on the device.

Can FamShield monitor Roblox chats?

No. FamShield doesn't read private messages or listen to conversations. Usage insights show how much time the app is used, and the controls support your family's agreed rules.

Does this work on tablets too?

Yes. FamShield covers Android phones and tablets, including Samsung devices.
